Converting Moon Cycle Bluesky Bot → Agentic Bot

🅰️ is for Agentic

The word “agentic” is currently considered slang in Merriam-Webster, but its origins are far from casual. Coined in the 1980s by psychologist Albert Bandura, known for Social Cognitive Theory, it described people as intentional, self-directed agents of change. A radical shift at the time, it reframed us not as passive products of conditioning, but as conscious architects of our reality.

As Saturn has recently entered Aries and AI accelerates, the word is being reclaimed. In a world of digital identity and solopreneurship, being “agentic” reflects both the rise of autonomous AI systems and our own need for independence. But there’s always a caveat.

Saturn in Aries isn’t comfortable, it’s urgent, raw, fast-moving. Much like AI. And while the innovation is exciting, it’s easy to overlook the ethical implications rushing past us. In another post, we’ll dig deeper into that.

🪧 What is Model Context Protocol (MCP)?

MCP is a way for various apps like databases, APIs, and file system readers and language models (like ChatGPT) to talk to each other in a structured, memory-aware, and goal-oriented way. Right now, multiple communities, companies, and organizations are building custom MCP Servers and Clients to get ahead of the curve of making it easier to for an LLM to communicate and take action on a tool or platform’s data. To better understand what MCP can provide, let’s compare it to a standard API:

We’re going to be using a Bluesky MCP Server to achieve a goal in creating the simple Bluesky Bot we’ve built into being context aware. It will help with keep track of the user who replies to the bot post and replying back once an LLM has generated a response. LangGraph will be the piece of this project that actually makes the bot agentic through a series of instructed steps or also known as nodes.

📈 What is LangGraph?

It is a tool that helps you build AI workflows that can think and make decisions step-by-step, like a flowchart powered by AI. LangGraph is built on top of LangChain, think of it like a more advanced or structured layer that gives LangChain workflows memory, branching, and decision-making abilities.

Let’s say you want to build a customer support AI that: Understands a user question, decides if it needs to search a database or ask a human, returns an answer or routes it to a person. LangGraph helps you draw this out and control the flow intelligently, so it's not just a linear script. It can loop, branch, and make decisions dynamically.

We’re adding LangGraph to the Bluesky bot so it can handle replies more intelligently. When someone replies with their rising sign, the bot will use that info to trigger an LLM and generate a personalized response. Then, it will use the Bluesky MCP Server to send a reply back to the user.

🦄 What’s next?

We talked about the implementation process for converting the Bluesky bot. I’m really big on planning first and researching technologies before jumping especially if it’s AI related. There’s always a possibility for a variable we didn’t account for though. Next step is to just build and share any blockers as part of my process. That will be on the next livestream.

MCP may have been recently introduced in 2024 but it is finally running with fire these past few months. I would love to dive into other MCPs and AI Agents that are out there that would be helpful for the rest of the development process.

Introducing Human Design (HD)

I’ve been focused heavily on technical topics during the series so I look forward to speaking more about other topics like Human Design. It is a lot like a user manual for your energy and decision-making style, based on your birth time, date, and place. In simple terms, It combines astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and the chakra system to show you:

• How your energy works

• How you make the best decisions

• What roles and patterns you’re here to live out

It gives you a "type" (like Generator or Projector), which tells you how you're designed to interact with the world. It also shows your natural strengths, challenges, and how to avoid burnout or frustration.

I have been using HD for almost 2 years and it has been a very interesting system in helping me make the right decisions to determine where I want to put my energy at and the direction I want to take my career. It’s not a simple system but it is mind blowing once you get it! It helps you stop trying to be someone you’re not and start using your energy in a way that actually works for you. I’m excited to introduce this topic on the series in a future episode.
